Culture Club were an English band that was formed in 1981. The band comprised Boy George (lead vocals), Roy Hay (guitar and keyboards), Mikey Craig (bass guitar) and Jon Moss (drums and percussion). Culture Club sold more than 50 million records worldwide with their synthethised pop and forays into reggae.

During their hey-day Culture Club won Brit Awards for Best British Group, Best British Single (“Karma Chameleon”), and the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. In the UK they amassed twelve Top 40 hit singles between 1982 and 1999, including the number ones “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me” and “Karma Chameleon”, the latter being the biggest selling single of 1983.

In 1984, Culture Club released their second album, Colour by Numbers, which was even more successful than their first. The album spawned two more Top 10 hits in the US, “Miss Me Blind” and “Victims”.

After a series of lineup changes and two more albums, Culture Club disbanded in 1986. They reunited briefly in 1998 and again in 1999 for a new album, Don’t Mind If I Do.

In 2002, Culture Club reformed for a new tour and released a greatest hits compilation album called ‘At Worst…The Best of Culture Club’. The compilation was a success and the band continued to tour worldwide through 2007.

The band reunited again in 2014, and released their first new album in over 20 years.
