The band’s breakthrough came in 1963 with their hit single, “Glad All Over,” which went on to reach number one in the UK and number six in the US. This success was followed by a string of chart-topping hits, including “Bits and Pieces,” “Catch Us If You Can,” and “Over and Over.”

In addition to their musical success, the DC5 also made appearances in several films, including “Catch Us If You Can” and “Having a Wild Weekend.” They also became regular performers on popular TV shows, such as “The Ed Sullivan Show” and “Shindig!”

By the late 1960s, however, the DC5’s popularity began to wane, and the band eventually disbanded in 1970. Dave Clark went on to have a successful career as a producer and manager, while the other members pursued various musical ventures.

Despite their relatively short-lived career, the Dave Clark Five left a lasting impact on the music industry, influencing countless musicians and bands that followed. Their catchy pop-rock sound and high-energy performances made them an iconic band of the 1960s.

After a lull in hits, The Dave Clark Five disbanded in 1970.
