The Spencer Davis Group continued to release singles throughout the 1960s, many of which became chart-topping hits. Among their most important singles are “Gimme Some Lovin’”, “I’m a Man”, and “Somebody Help Me.” The group disbanded in 1968, but reunited for a brief tour in 1987.

In their five years of activity, the Spencer Davis Group’s sound embraced several different genres, from blues and soul to psychedelia and rock and roll. They were one of the most influential groups of the British Invasion and an important part of the music scene in the 1960s.

After the band’s breakup, the Winwood brothers went on to notable success in their own right, both separately and in collaboration. The Spencer Davis Group’s influence can still be seen in rock and roll today, with numerous bands citing them as an influence. Their music remains an influence on modern listeners, and they have been credited with popularising soul and blues music among young British audiences.
